Reporting to the President of LivCor, Michael Friedland, the Head of Business Planning will lead a newly created team by leveraging the firm’s advanced analytics and applying investment acumen to optimize the value of real estate in the LivCor portfolio.


She/he is uniquely positioned within the company to work across the entire organization. The successful candidate will work hand-in-hand with the acquisitions team and Blackstone to build detailed business plans rooted in capital markets expertise. This professional will collaborate with asset managers, revenue advisors, capex specialists and third-party operating partners to make tactical decisions that drive value, utilizing the expertise of the team to support yield-enhancing redevelopment decisions. On a daily basis, this professional will partner with the research and data insights teams to uncover predictive analytics and actionable trends in the portfolio.


In partnership with the LivCor leadership team and key stakeholders of Blackstone, the successful candidate will own and have responsibility for combining capital markets expertise, investment considerations, data analytics, portfolio management and on-the-ground strategy, and operate with urgency to drive value and create outsized relative returns for  fiduciaries. This is a unique opportunity to work within one of the fastest growing multifamily platform in the US.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Co-author asset-by-asset business plans in partnership with the acquisition, asset management, capex/redevelopment, and revenue management teams.
  • Assume responsibility for and drive investment-forward portfolio returns in connection with asset management.
  • Establish and lead portfolio-wide tactical and performance reviews.
  • Develop portfolio level metrics around development, leasing, and operating metrics that offer insights for investment and asset management teams.
  • Apply analytics to value-optimization and determine tactics to execute business plan including analytical support to redevelopment efforts that grow yield across the portfolio.
  • Build mutually-beneficial working relationships with humans across LivCor while creating urgency.
  • Drive liquidity events including sales and refinancing in conjunction with investment team.

The ideal candidate has experience with ‘round trip’ investing and portfolio management in the multi-family sector. This successful candidate will possess a demonstrated history of (a) building cross-functional relationships, (b) hiring and developing talent, and (c) designing and leading portfolio management processes that can scale.


In terms of the performance and personal competencies required for the position, we would highlight the following:

  • 10+ years of experience in real estate investments or portfolio management.
  • Experience working within a private equity context and on national portfolios.
  • Executive gravitas and the maturity to interact with high-level stakeholders throughout the LivCor and Blackstone organizations.
  • Understanding of capital markets and performance analysis.
  • Strong modeling, financial analysis and quantitative and analytic capabilities is a plus.
  • Strategic, creative and analytical thinker.
  • Relationship driven.
  • Executive presence, ability to build consensus with peers.
  • Exceptional analytical and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field.
