The Senior Director of Renewable Energy and Sourcing is a key position on LivCor’s ESG team that will support the team and drive transformative change. LivCor aspires to be the largest generator of renewable energy and the first carbon neutral portfolio in the private multifamily sector.  We are looking for someone to develop and implement the renewable and sourcing strategy that will propel the portfolio towads those ends.  Key responsibilities include driving the transition of our national portfolio toward a carbon free future through development of on-site generation and storage strategies, green power procurement, carbon offset and electrification strategies.

What you will do:

  • Develop a flexible solar power generation and/or microgrid solution for a diverse range of multifamily building types (garden style, mid-rise and high-rise) that can be scaled across a national portfolio.
  • Build relationships with solar developers, panel providers, storage providers and experts. Be the technical expert for solar, storage and other renewable energy systems.  Stay informed of the technical, market, and regulatory developments in the renewable energy industry and communicate key trends, risks and potential impacts to management
  • Manage the installation of solar solutions through construction contracts and third-party operators (on-site management and construction teams)
  • Collaborate with internal Asset Management, Capital Expenditure and Operations teams to streamline the identification and execution of renewable energy project opportunities across the portfolio.
  • Support the development and execution of a comprehensive energy and utilities purchasing strategy for the national portfolio.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support reporting on LivCor’s renewable energy purchases, energy consumption, and renewable energy credit retirement, as well as progress toward renewable energy and net zero targets.
  • Create tenant engagement program to measure and reduce US real estate scope 3 emissions
  • Help develop carbon offset strategy for various funds
  • Support electrification efforts across multifamily building types, including development and deployment of electrical vehicle charging strategy

What you should have:

  • Passion for deploying decarbonization solutions to drive rapid adoption of clean energy and sustainable practices across the U.S. economy
  • 12+ years industry experience in the renewable energy space in a corporate environment, real estate holding company or major consulting company, with a preference in the multifamily sector, including experience in selection, purchasing, and installation of solar power solutions for various building types
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of emerging energy technologies and related business models, such as solar, energy storage, procurement, electric vehicles and energy management software platforms
  • In-depth knowledge of energy issues, technologies, markets, the electric utility industry, and relevant state and federal requirements.
  • Bachelors Degree in STEM preferred
  • Experience in project management with an established track record of overseeing successfully both short and long term with interim and measurable goals
  • Superior analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and all Microsoft office applications
  • Able to juggle multiple tasks projects. Well organized, capable of multitasking and managing their time well
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Collaborate at all levels, working with team members, senior management, and business owners to move projects forward.
  • Ability to travel 25%-50%

In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $195,500 - $240,350.  This role is bonus eligible.  Benefits include generous health insurance and wellness benefits, 401(k), and paid time off.
